Mission Statement

Baby BRAIN Lab focuses on findings ways to support brain development and prevent brain injury in babies. We focus our efforts on babies who are at risk of developmental disabilities, such as those born preterm, with heart disease, or with brain injury. Using advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and bedside brain monitoring, we investigate how being ill or having brain injury impacts child development and how this is modified by the social and structural determinants of health. Through our research, we aim to improve long-term brain health and neurodevelopment in children who required intensive care as babies.
