heart. Disturbances in the rhythm of the heart, or arrhythmias, can occur in otherwise healthy children or in children with heart disease. His research aims to improve the outcome of children who have arrhythmias.<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph fndry-paragraph--left\">Many potentially lethal conditions affecting the heart rhythm are inherited and Dr. Sanatani works on heritable conditions causing arrhythmias. This research involves collaborations with clinician and basic scientists from all over the world to improve our understanding of inherited heart rhythm disorders.<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph discovery of six new \u00df-cell transcription factors, work on how insulin-producing cells form during embryonic development, and pioneering genome-editing approaches for use in \u00df-cells and embryonic stem cells.
