We aim to increase equitable access to high-quality care using digital technology and support the goals of the BC Digital Health Strategy.<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Our focus is on:<\/p><ul  class=\"fndry-list fndry-d--flex fndry-flex--col\"><li\n\t class=\"fndry-list-item\">\n\t<strong>Supporting better data access for research through advocacy and partnership building across PHSA and the BC Ministry of Health.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><ul  class=\"fndry-list fndry-d--flex fndry-flex--col\"><li\n\t class=\"fndry-list-item\">\n\t<strong>Enabling digital health research by streamlining research and implementation processes for C&amp;W investigators and trainees, building capacity and providing direct project support.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 class=\"fndry-heading\">What is Digital Health?<\/h2><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Digital health is a broad umbrella term for any digital technology used to support health-care delivery and access and the maintenance of good health and wellbeing. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.euro.who.int\/en\/health-topics\/Health-systems\/digital-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.euro.who.int\/en\/health-topics\/Health-systems\/digital-health<\/a>)<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Digital health can improve both care quality and access to care by removing social and distance barriers, serving as a pathway to prevention, and providing an opportunity for impactful, real-time patient care through improved data access and governance. We support the\u00a0BC Children\u2019s Hospital and BC Women\u2019s Hospital + Health Centre research community through this process starting with defining the clinical need and developing digital health research ideas, through to the sustainable implementation of evidence-based digital health products or services.<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">*We use the standardized framework of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/101.nsf\/eng\/00077.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">technology readiness levels<\/a>\u00a0to support investigators through this
