The WholeBlends Diet Study<\/h3>

The WholeBlends Diet Study<\/strong> (REB: H23-00707), led by Dr. Sally Lawrence<\/strong>, is currently recruiting participants! This pilot study aims to evaluate the efficacy of a food additive-free blended diet<\/strong> as an alternative to standard exclusive enteral nutrition in children diagnosed with Crohn\u2019s disease<\/strong>. Gut4Health has supported this study since its beginning, with Dr. Larissa Celiberto<\/strong> assisting in study design, ethics application, and participant recruitment. We look forward to continuing our support for Dr. Lawrence throughout the study and are excited to begin processing samples and analyzing data in the coming months. <\/p>

Organoid Biobank<\/h3>

Gut4Health is proud to be one of the nodes in the\u00a0Canadian National Organoid Network<\/a>\u00a0in Vancouver. This groundbreaking initiative will provide Canadian scientists with access to\u00a0human organoid lines<\/strong>, fostering novel discoveries in human health and disease. Canadian Digestive Disease Week and Canadian Liver Meeting Conference<\/a><\/h4>\n

The Gut4Health team was pleased to attend the Canadian Digestive Disease Week and Canadian Liver Meeting Conference<\/strong> from February 28 to March 2, 2025, in Quebec City<\/strong>. We had a great time learning about novel research from leading Canadian scientists in the field of gastroenterology and liver disease. Our director, Dr. Bruce Vallance<\/strong>, and research manager, Dr. Andy Sham<\/strong>, were present, along with several members of the Vallance Lab, who presented their latest research on organoids highlighting novel models and cutting-edge techniques available at Gut4Health.<\/p>\n<\/div>

BIG25 Research Day<\/h4>\n
\n

Gut4Health was proud to exhibit at the\u00a0BIG25 Research Day<\/strong>, on March 20, 2025, in Vancouver BC. This event is an annual tradition of\u00a0B<\/strong>ioinformatics,\u00a0I<\/strong>nterdisciplinary Oncology and\u00a0G<\/strong>enome Science + Technology graduate programs at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Our bioinformatician,\u00a0Irvin Ng<\/strong>, presented a poster about his work on\u00a0leveraging machine learning to predict disease severity in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease using gut microbiome data<\/strong>. We had great interactions with trainees and faculty members who visited the\u00a0Gut4Health booth<\/strong>\u00a0during the event to learn about our services.<\/p>\n<\/div>
