Imaging Core<\/h1>

The BCCHR Imaging Core facility operates on a fee-for-service basis, which allows for partial cost recovery for operating expenses and service contracts for the instruments. A portion of the facility operating and instrumentation costs are provided through financial support from the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and Foundation, University of British Columbia and Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) awards to contributing investigators.

BCCHR Core Facilities welcomes all new users<\/h2>

First time core users please register on\u00a0Calpendo<\/a>\u00a0to create a user profile using your academic email. Your account must be tied to a PI who is also on Calpendo. If your PI is not on Calpendo, please ask them to make an account first.\u00a0Once the account is approved, you will be able to log in and access the resource calendars to book training with a core staff. Facility Overview<\/h2>

The BCCHR Imaging Core is a multi-user facility located on the 4th floor in the Translational Research Building (TRB) at A4-110. It houses five powerful microscopes to image fixed or live cells\/organoids\/tissues, subcellular structures and 3D morphologies of single cells. This allows for high-content solution for fixed or live cell Confocal or Wide Field imaging at a large scale, time-lapse imaging to observe live cell behaviour in real time, ultrahigh-plex (100+ biomarkers) imaging, Bright Field or Fluorescence Wide Field tiling imaging, and high-resolution Laser Scanning Confocal Spectral imaging to resolve structures at the level of single proteins. It also hosts four image data processing and analysis computers for Quality Control and Correction, Deconvolution, 3D renderings and object-based analysis. A full-time technician provides training, consultation, and assistance to researchers, from sample preparation to data analysis.<\/p>
