CRAFT: Co-designing Resources with And for Chinese-Canadian Families Together<\/h1>

Study Overview<\/h3>

Many Chinese-Canadian families struggle in silence to support their child\u2019s mental health. Most resources are available only in English and were developed without cultural considerations about stigma and other barriers. In this project, we address this gap by partnering with Chinese-Canadian families, clinicians, and community agencies to co-design parenting resources for families of children aged 3-12y that are culturally-meaningful, engaging, and effective. We will build upon priority themes and preferred methods of accessing resources as identified by Chinese-Canadian parents and grandparents from a recent needs assessment conducted by our team. Specifically, we will co-develop 1-3 modules to address i) child emotion dysregulation, ii) child attention and motivation, and iii) child anxiety and stress. Based on principles of human-centered design, resources will be co-developed through an iterative process between family advisors and clinical experts, co-presented to the Chinese-Canadian population across BC and beyond, and co-evaluated using parental rating scales and feedback interviews. We aim to co-produce culturally tailored parenting resources to enhance child emotional and behavioural well-being amongst Chinese-Canadian families.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>
