Congratulations to the BC Children’s and BC Women’s investigators who were awarded funding through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant Fall 2020 competition. Our research community received around $6 million in new research grants.

Congratulations to the BC Children’s and BC Women’s investigators who were awarded funding through the highly competitive Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant Fall 2019 competition. Our research community received more than $8 million in new research and bridge grants. 

The results are part of Lorentzian’s work with Chris Maxwell and Philipp Lange, co-senior study authors, in an innovative field of cancer treatment research called precision oncology. Similar tests have been designed for adult cancers, but childhood cancers require a unique approach since different tissues are affected and fewer drugs are safe for treating children.
