About the Diabetes Transformation Project
The Diabetes Transformation Project (DTP) is a BC Children’s Hospital initiative that aims to improve the lives and health outcomes of children living with diabetes across British Columbia.
We work with families, healthcare providers, researchers, and decision-makers to design, test, and share innovative approaches to diabetes care. By working with experts who truly understand the challenges of a diabetes diagnosis, we aim to make diabetes care more supportive, more accessible, and more effective for the children and families who need it.
Our Work
The DTP brings together multiple projects that focus on:
- Innovating diabetes education to better support families and children with diabetes in their daily lives
- Improving clinical care through better data, interprofessional collaboration and evidence-based practices
- Engaging patients and families in shaping research and care models
- Advancing research to understand how we can make care better for children and youth with diabetes
