MSc Student Position in Implementation Science and Neonatal Care
Dr. Stephanie Glegg and Dr. Sandesh Shivananda are recruiting a highly motivated student for a funded MSc position beginning in January 2027 in The University of British Columbia’s Rehabilitation Sciences Graduate Program. The position will be co-supervised by Dr. Stephanie Glegg, OT, PhD, Assistant Professor and implementation scientist, and Dr. Sandesh Shivananda, Associate Professor and neonatologist at BC Women’s Hospital. This two-year, hybrid position is based in Vancouver and includes in-person classes at UBC and clinical and implementation research activities and meetings at BC Women’s Hospital.
The student will join an ongoing implementation science project focused on strengthening evidence-informed care for bronchopulmonary dysplasia in the neonatal intensive care unit. Their MSc work will centre on implementing and evaluating a series of clinical guidelines, including developing implementation plans, tailoring and delivering strategies with clinicians, tracking adaptations and contextual factors, and contributing to a clinician follow-up survey and knowledge mobilization activities.
We are seeking someone with a relevant undergraduate degree and a strong interest in implementation science, neonatal care, and applied health research. The ideal applicant will be organized, proactive, collaborative, and a strong communicator. Experience with healthcare research, survey methods, implementation science, or qualitative or quantitative analysis are an asset but not required.
