Dawn Gano

MD, FRCPC, MAS

Investigator and Pediatric Neurologist, BC Children's Hospital
Head, Division of Neurology, Department of Pediatrics, University of British Columbia

The central goal of my work is the promotion of brain health across the lifecycle through a specific focus on fetal and newborn brain health. Our lab aims to further an understanding of the causes and outcomes of neurological conditions that present prenatally, identify modifiable predictors of brain injuries across the perinatal age spectrum spanning the 20th week of gestation through the first month of age, and ultimately, develop and evaluate novel strategies to improve long-term neurological outcomes. Our work evolves from family and community stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
