Investigator, BC Children's Hospital
Biostatistical Lead, BCCHR

My research focuses on the intersection between modern statistical methods and applications in clinical and epidemiological research, aiming to generate robust evidence for improved decision-making. My research activity is split between exploration and dissemination of statistical methods, and collaborative research with clinical and public health colleagues. In the latter, I work particularly in areas using administrative data sources, and on the design and analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Methodologically I am interested in causal inference methods, such as target trial emulation and quantitative bias analyses, applied to observational data, and on alternative trial designs (e.g., cluster, stepped wedge, or Bayesian). I focus on the translation and clear communication of this technical material as a way of bridging the gap between complex statistical methods and usable, impactful outputs for colleagues.

My areas of applied research vary based on methodological challenges, or the interest of collaborators. Specific areas I have spent significant time working in include perinatal epidemiology, pediatric diabetes and global maternal and child health.
