Jonathan Gubbay

MBBS, MMedSc

Investigator and Medical Microbiologist, BC Children's Hospital
Division Head Division of Microbiology, Virology and Infection Control, BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre

My primary research interest is in the diagnosis and epidemiology of viral infections. My research involves application of molecular methods to improve detection and help understand the epidemiology and genetic heterogeneity of viruses, with a focus on respiratory viruses and emerging viral pathogens. I am also focusing on the use of newer molecular technologies in the hospital microbiology laboratory setting to support outbreak management and pathogen detection.
