Dr. Avdimiretz is a certified Pediatric Respirologist with clinical and research expertise in advanced lung diseases in childhood, lung transplantation, aerodigestive conditions, bronchoscopy, and interstitial lung diseases. He previously worked at Stanford University, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, as Medical Director of the Pediatric Lung Transplant Program. He is a devoted medical educator and coach for trainees, and has an interest in studying health disparities and inequities.His research is focused on improving outcomes for children with advanced and rare lung diseases. This includes studying practices in the field of pediatric lung transplant around the world, examining shifts over time in childhood lung diseases, and investigating how to optimize care for children with these diseases. As well, Dr. Avdimiretz authored a book chapter on allergy in heart transplantation and is involved in studying the effectiveness of new types of therapies for children with cystic fibrosis.
