Our goal is to support and facilitate professional development for the BCCHR research community by providing opportunities to augment research skills and knowledge. We also organize public outreach events that provide a platform for the research community to discuss their work, its context, and potential impact.

Trainee Advisory Group & Trainee Networking Committee

The Trainee Advisory Group provides recommendations to guide the development, implementation, and promotion of BCCHR trainee initiatives. The Trainee Networking Committee provides BCCHR trainees the opportunity to organize trainee-led networking activities, with the goal of building and expanding trainee connections.

As the lead of the Research Education team at BCCHR, Ashley is dedicated to helping create a positive learning environment where research excellence can thrive. With 10+ years’ of experience working in health administration and academia, she is focused on finding new and innovative ways for trainees and students to build the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career. At BCCHR, Ashley is responsible for trainee engagement (including professional development and training, the Summer Student Research Program, research awards, and outreach.

Coordinator, Research Education

Jessica has over a decade of experience in multifaceted support positions. As a coordinator for both the Research Services and Education teams, Jessica supports members of the BCCHR community via community and outreach event assistance; she also manages investigator membership applications and helps oversee the RCM Directory. With her prior completion of two undergraduate degrees and a technical writing diploma she brings effective communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning to her role.

Sharon Yau is a program coordinator with the Research Education and Services teams at BCCHR. She supports the organization of a multidisciplinary learning environment for trainees and staff by providing opportunities to develop research and professional skills, network, and engage with the scientific community. In addition to working with trainees, Sharon provides membership support for BCCHR investigators and research community members.
