In 2013, I established the Early Pregnancy Research Program, focusing on recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) research. Approximately 50% of RPL cases remain unexplained; my work aims to advance understanding, improve patient care, and raise awareness of early pregnancy complications, particularly RPL.

I oversee the ProRPL Registry (ClinicalTrials.gov ID NCT05989178), initiated in 2023, facilitating efficient data collection across diverse patient populations. This registry enables studies investigating genetic, immunological, and environmental factors contributing to RPL, as well as diagnostic tools and treatment outcomes. Given the broad impacts of RPL beyond physical health, we integrate patient-oriented research strategies, engaging individuals with lived experience to guide research areas and refine clinical care. To further knowledge translation and collaboration, we launched the Early Pregnancy Research website, providing evidence-based resources for patients, healthcare professionals, and researchers. Additionally, we partnered with Butterfly Run BC, which supports individuals facing infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss.

My research also focuses on endometriosis-related pain and infertility, investigating specialized surgical techniques and hormone therapies to develop personalized treatment approaches. By systematically evaluating the efficiency, effectiveness, side effects, and complications of treatments, I aim to reduce recurrence and improve quality of life while preserving fertility. My work also extends to innovative approaches in assisted reproductive technologies and minimally invasive surgical techniques for a variety of gynecological conditions, advancing precision treatments for these debilitating disorders.
