Elango Lab Research Overview

Our lab is passionate about a variety of topics relating to human nutrition. We are currently studying: 

  • Protein and amino acid requirements at different stages of the life-cycle
  • Amino acid bioavailability of different foods
  • Inborn errors of metabolism, including:
    • Phenylketonuria (PKU)
    • Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD)
    • Propionic Acidemia (PA)
    • Pyridoxine-Dependent Epilepsy (PDE) 
  • Global health and influence of maternal nutrition on women’s health
  • Human milk and preterm infant nutrition
