Elodie Portales-Casamar is the director of data management and IT infrastructure at the Azrieli Research Center at CHU Sainte-Justine (CHUSJ) and clinical associate professor in the department of pediatrics at Université de Montréal. She has a PhD in neuroscience and postdoctoral training in bioinformatics and genomics, and is an expert in clinical research informatics, research data management and standardization, and repurposing of clinical data for research. Elodie contributed to the development of bioinformatics tools and led the implementation of data platforms and registries for national networks such as NeuroDevNet (Kids Brain Health) Network of Centres of Excellence (https://kidsbrainhealth.ca/), the Canadian Pediatric Diabetes Consortium (CAPACIty; https://diabetesbc.ca/building-capacity-canadian-pediatric-diabetes-consortium/), the Pediatric Outcome imProvement through COordination of Research Networks (POPCORN; https://popcornpediatrics.ca), and most recently the Canadian Pediatric Rare Disease Clinical Trials and Treatment Network (RareKids-CAN; https://www.rarekidscan.com/). For the past 15 years, she has been developing and maintaining informatics infrastructure to support clinical research activities at Canadian pediatric hospitals for the sharing, integration, standardization and analysis of heterogenous data from healthcare.
