Congratulations to the BC Children's and BC Women's investigators who were awarded funding through the highly competitive Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant Fall 2019 competition. Our research community received more than $8 million in new research and bridge grants.
Dr. Rollin Brant, a BC Children’s Hospital investigator and professor in the UBC Department of Statistics, is retiring this month after an exceptional career in which he used his expertise in statistical methodology and statistical computing to contribute to a diverse array of leading-edge health research projects.
Researchers at the University of British Columbia, BC Children’s Hospital, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre have designed a therapeutic robot that simulates human skin-to-skin contact, helping reduce pain for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at BC Women’s.
