Calling all elementary school teachers in Campbell River and surrounding communities! Experience the excitement of health science—right in your elementary school classroom!
What can students expect?
Science Explorers is a free program designed to spark curiosity, build science literacy, and help students see themselves as the next generation of scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers. This includes:
- Exciting science demonstrations, fun games and hands-on learning experiences
- Opportunities to ask questions and meet real-life science superhero’s from BC Children’s Hospital
- Discoveries about how science impacts everyday life and the world around us
- Exploration of health research and how it improves lives
- Inspiration to think like a scientist and explore future careers in science, health, and research

Who can participate?
Any elementary school in Campbell River and surrounding communities. Activities are tailored to the age and grade level of the students to ensure an engaging and meaningful experience.
At this time, Science Explorers is offered in English only.
What’s need from you?
Science Explorers is offered free of charge. We can bring the program directly to your classroom, library, gymnasium, or another suitable space at your school.
All we ask is that a teacher helps coordinate the session time and location. Our team will take care of the rest, including all materials and activities.
Interested?
Applications will be accepted in January 2027. The application form will be posted on this page once applications open.
Space is limited to 12 classrooms. While we strive to accommodate all interested students, spaces will be allocated to maximize participation from different schools and to ensure a balanced program schedule.
What information do you need to apply?
- Your name, email and school name
- Classroom details, including the number of students, grade level, and any curriculum connections you’d like us to consider
- Confirmation that your school administration or principal supports bringing this program to your classroom
- Your preferred session time on Thursday, April 8, 2027 (morning or afternoon)
