A new study led by investigators at BC Children’s Hospital and the University of British Columbia (UBC) found that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are safe to use in pregnancy, and that pregnant people experienced lower rates of health events post-vaccination than similarly aged, non-pregnant vaccinated people.
BC Children’s Hospital is part of a new cross-Canada network to ensure a coordinated research response to COVID-19. Supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the platform will enhance collaboration and information-sharing between research teams to fully understand the impacts of COVID-19 and improve the health and wellbeing of children and youth.
