Investigator and Pediatric Gastroenterologist, BC Children's Hospital

My Research is focused on children with Intestinal Failure, these are children that have either lost a significant amount of their intestine from complications of conditions including NEC, Gastroschisis, malrotation or are born with intestine that does not work properly. Often these patients require support from IV nutrition or IV fluids to grow and survive. I am in the process of being part of the International Intestinal Failure Registry which will help collaborate/participate in Multicenter studies looking at the Natural History of Intestinal Failure which will help us understand more about this condition and hopefully be able to better treat the condition so we can improve outcomes and quality of life (QoL) for this patients. I am also interested on understanding better the pathophysiology of Inflammatory bowel disease in patients with Intestinal Failure to be able to find targeted and personalized treatment patients with this condition.
