Evidence to Innovation
We’re Leading Initiatives to Inform Health-care Policy and Practice
Researchers in the Evidence to Innovation (E2i) Theme are health-care innovators. Our team of clinicians and scientists are developing new health-care technologies, improving patient care, advancing the safe and effective use of drugs, developing new methods of health data analytics, and shifting health-system attitudes and behaviours to improve the health and well-being of children and families.
Specialized research groups provide the opportunity for BCCHR scientists and clinicians with similar research interests to connect and collaborate, regardless of their theme affiliations. While each group is supported by at least one theme, researchers can be part of any group from any theme. The Evidence to Innovation Theme has four specialized research groups: Clinical and Community Data, Analytics, and Informatics; Clinical Pharmacology; Clinical Practice, Outcomes, and Innovation; and Implementing Knowledge for Equity and System Change.
Clinical and Community Data, Analytics, and Informatics
Co-leads: Matthias Görges and Jonathan Wong
The Clinical and Community Data, Analytics, and Informatics Group is a think tank for all aspects of data collection and analysis. Areas of research include enabling access, improving security, partnering data from outside sources, and pursuing funding to improve data capacity.
Clinical Pharmacology
Co-leads: Bruce Carleton and Kathryn Armstrong
The Clinical Pharmacology Group aims to make drugs safer and more effective through a rolling program of research within each pediatric sub-discipline.
Clinical Practice, Outcomes, and Innovation
Co-leads: Kathryn Armstrong and Tim Bhatnagar
The Clinical Practice, Outcomes, and Innovation Group brings together clinical knowledge, scientific evidence, and the values of caregivers, clients, and patients to improve safety and clinical service.
Implementing Knowledge for Equity and System Change
Co-leads: Astrid De Souza and Matthew Carwana
The mission of the Implementing Knowledge for Equity and System Change Group is to enable children and their families in British Columbia to live healthy, active lives.
