Experience the excitement of health science—right in your elementary school classroom!

The Mini Med School Team from BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute is coming to Prince George on Thursday, May 7, 2026, and we’re inviting local elementary classrooms to book a time for the Mini Med School Explorers program! | Poster

What is Mini Med School Explorers?

This interactive program is designed to get kids thinking like real scientists. Through games, Q&As, and science surprises, students get a closer look at the world of science and health research.

Program Highlights:

  • Scientist Says - A high-energy twist on Simon Says that teaches science concepts through movement and fun.
  • Ask a Scientist - A Q&A with real scientists and health professionals. Meet real researchers and ask them anything!
  • True or False? Science Style – A lively science trivia game to challenge what students think they know about the health research.

What’s Needed from You?

The Mini Med School Explorers program is free, and we can run the session in your classroom, library, gym — wherever works best. All we ask is that the teacher helps coordinate the time and location. Our team brings everything else.

Who Can Participate?

Any elementary school in Prince George. Activities will be tailored to your grade level. We recommend 30–60 minutes for the full experience but we're flexible to fit your schedule and learning style.

What is the Goal of this Program?

We want to spark curiosity, build science literacy, and connect students with real scientists, helping them see how health science impacts everyday life and future careers.

The program is delivered by the Mini Med School Team from BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute — a group of scientists and health professionals passionate about science education.
