Networking | BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute

To give you the opportunity to mingle with students outside your research team, various networking events will be arranged throughout the summer.

Each week, students will receive an email bulletin about upcoming events and their available formats. Attendance will be recorded during each session.

Sign-Up, Pair-Up, Meet-Up | Week of June 16 – 20

Engage and connect with the research community! Participants will be paired with other summer students to chat virtually or in-person. This is your chance to network and practice your communications skills in a safe and friendly environment.

Scheduling: Participants can pick a date and time that works best for their group.

Giftcards: In-person participants can each grab a $6 Starbucks giftcard for their meet-up. After being paired up, students can arrange to pick-up their giftcards from the Research Education team. Virtual participants will be sent a $6 Starbucks e-giftcard. Additional details will be emailed to each group.

Ice Cream Social | Friday, July 4 | 2:00pm

Here's the scoop! Join us for some sweet treats and build your own ice cream sundae. We will also include dairy-free options. Ice cream available while supplies last.

Career Day with Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute | Date TBD

Session Format: In-Person
Location: Vancouver General Hospital

This session will NOT be available virtually or recorded for On-Demand.

In collaboration with Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, summer students are invited for a special Career Day event featuring a career development presentation, career panel, speed mentoring sessions and networking opportunities. More details to come.
