Upcoming Intermediate Workshops
If you have some basic familiarity opening up R and running lines of code/making simple plots, this workshop series is for you! Our Intermediate Workshops are designed to teach you how to use R to leverage your data analysis skills by guiding you through common statistical tools and techniques.
As of September 2021, there are currently no upcoming intermediate workshops scheduled. However, one may be scheduled later in the 2021-2022 academic year - check this space for updates!
Past Intermediate Workshops
Statistical Models in R: Presented by ECOSCOPE
In this workshop, we introduce various types of regression models and how they are implemented in R. We cover linear regression, ANOVA, ANCOVA and mixed effects models for continuous response data, logistic regression binary response data, and Poisson and Negative Binomial regression for count response data.
You will learn:
- the assumptions behind the different models
- how to interpret the main effects and interaction terms in a model
- various experimental design concepts that help maximize the power
In R, you will learn how to:
- build a statistical model
- define and manipulate model terms
- use the lsmeans package to answer specific research questions
Participants with little to no prior experience should take an “Introduction to R” workshop prior to this series.
Date: April 12th and 13th, 2021
Time: 1:00-4:00pm each day
*This is a two-part workshop! Please register only if you are able to attend both sessions. Zoom link will be sent to registered participants. Please register here: https://forms.gle/bbNrMu3jqPDAuSob7
